Collins - Kevin the Bold Sunday, 7-21-1968

Kreigh Collins’ Kevin the Bold was a Prince Valiant competitor about a Renaissance sea-farer and adventurer, which began in 1950 and ran until 1968. Examples are not all that common as I understand that the bulk of Collins work was donated to the Grand Rapids Public Library and to the art museum there. Here’s a good Sunday from the final year of the strip.

Collins’ originals are large – size is about 26 x 18.5 inches, on illustration board. Minor white-out, particularly in dialog balloons and panel borders, as you can see in the scan.
